Family Carers Ireland is a registered charity (number CHY 10962) and a company limited by guarantee, emerging from the coming together of two long standing charities of over 25 years – The Carers Association and Caring for Carers in 2016. The merger brings the best of both charities together whilst broadening the range of services and supports to family carers and giving one national voice to represent fairness for carers.

GROW is a community-based mental health organisation – meetings are held each week in communities across Ireland. Groups provide mutual help and support to anyone experiencing mental health difficulties or struggling with any aspect of their mental wellbeing. Meeting are free, confidential and provide a safe, non-judgemental environment.
GROW being a Peer support organisation fully supports the excellent work being done in the Recovery College. Co-Production is at the heart of all GROW’s work – GROW believes that everyone is an expert in their own Mental Health and that we can all learn from each other. |
National Learning Network provides a range of flexible training programmes and support services for people who need specialist support (job seekers, unemployed, people with an illness or disability) in 50 centres around the country. The SOLAS & HSE training programmes, all of which include work experience, offer nationally recognised qualifications including QQI, ECDL, and City and Guilds ensuring that students are ready to get a job or go on to further education.

The Regional Centre of Nursing & Midwifery Education, is committed to the provision of accessible, quality assured programmes of education and training for registered nurses and registered midwives, based on identified service need. The aim is to support nurses and midwives in the development and ongoing maintenance of competence thereby promoting safe, quality, evidence based care for patients and service users.

The Substance Misuse Services works with adults and young people who want help to deal with a drug or alcohol problem and who want to build a healthier, happier life for themselves. They also support friends, families and carers.
The Substance Misuse Services provide free drug and alcohol services across the South East Region. The recovery team includes, GP’s, Nurses, Counsellors, Drug Education Officers, Outreach Workers, Community Pharmacies and work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies and organisations. |
The Department of Nursing and Health Care at Waterford Institute of Technology is delighted to be linked with the Recovery College South East and has been involved and supportive of the college since its inception. The Department is always delighted to welcome Recovery College programme facilitators to our campus where they always deliver extremely relevant and thought provoking programmes to our students and staff. The Department offers a range of programmes, including undergraduate and post graduate programmes for psychiatric nurses, programmes for nurses and other professionals and non- professionals on areas including cognitive behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, management of work related stress and other psychosocial interventions. The Regional Suicide Resource Office covers HSE Community Healthcare Organisation Area 5, Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny and South Tipperary. The Resource Office works in the area of suicide prevention, intervention and postvention by coordinating the development and implementation of Connecting for Life, Ireland’s National Strategy to Reduce Suicide 2015-2020 at local level.
The Resource Office delivers a range of suicide prevention and self-harm training including safeTALK, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and Understanding Self-Harm. The Resource Office also provides the HSE Bereavement Counselling Service for Traumatic Deaths for those aged 16 and over that are bereaved by suicide, homicide, road traffic accident, industrial, domestic and agricultural accident or drowning. Referrals are taken in writing from a health professional.
